connect+collect makes it easy to engage with the art of your place and time,

connecting artists poised for national careers with those who want to invest in the success of baltimore,

one artist at a time.

Connect+Collect Offers:

· Studio Tours for Collectors, Curators, Trustee and Museum Groups

· A Speaker Series where Collectors and Artists discuss best practices for collecting - now on Zoom every first thursday of the month

· An Inaugural Artist Cohort of 12 artists who have achieved national recognition in the form of museum acquisitions and exhibits, national press, grants, and residencies but are not being actively collected in Baltimore

· a gallery and work space at 2519 N. Charles Street

The gallery is currently closed due to covid-19 restrictions but we are projecting video art, animation, and digital images each night on our front windows in an effort to continue to exhibit art, but in a safe and socially distant way

speaker series

Connect + Collect hosted four unique speaker events in 2019 featuring a collector in conversation with an artist where honest and informal discussions of money, power, etiquette, the art market, best practices, and other topics typically not acknowledged in an art gallery. The series will resume after Covid-19 stay at home orders have been rescinded.

studio tours: building relationships with artists

What are the rules of engagement for visiting an artist’s studio? How can artists prepare themselves to host a studio visit that is enjoyable, productive, and feel confident afterwards?

We have designed studio tours for curators and critics, visiting professors and collectors, boards of trustees and college presidents. Previous tours include MICA President Samuel Hoi, JHU President Ron Daniels, Collector and Hotelier Mera Rubell, Hyperallergic Editor Hrag Vartanian, as well as friends, family members, and colleagues in Baltimore, and we especially love creating studio visits and tours for new collectors.
